If Yours Truly has one of those personalities that doesn’t like surprises, why did he buy a book called, Surprise Me? Maybe because God’s surprises are so much better than man’s? And, of course, it was on sale. He does have a bit of Scottish blood in him, the tightwad.
¶ Doing the seven-points format I seem to be starting now from the bottom and moving up. What might this be a sign of?
¶ May I protest once again the disappearance of the hyphen, as used in the previous point (for all the good it does)? Perhaps better to say lament, rather than protest. Among other uses, the hyphen-in-danger-of-extinction helps make sense of compound adjectives, or adjectival phrases, whatever they’re called.
¶ Son2 hit 40 last week, and the Youngest notched another number in the 30s. The older generation is moving along, too. Birthdays are thoughtful moments, and grateful. The more one has, the more reason for thanksgiving.

¶ A non-random Bible verse, as the Last Word: “The very spring of our actions is the love of Christ.” 2Corinthians 5.4 Phillips. This is similar to a Portuguese version, “For what motivates us is the love of Christ” (my translation of A21).
