Finally back to real blogging

This is a test, says Olly, and I'm the happy guinea pig. After flailing about helplessly, I've been rescued so that I can now return to bigtime blogging.

I considered reviving the old name, Random Variables, from over 20 years ago. But why not go with something new? On some social spots I've used JazMat, so I'll take that for now. And will hook up my domain name a bit later.

The pros of blogging have been well described, so I'll not go into those, except to say that it's a fine exercise of filtering thoughts and along the way perhaps even making a friend or two.

I'm brewing some fine Brazilian coffee between paragraphs. Join me?
