Then he said to them, “Where is your faith?”
Luke 8:25a

When ill winds blow and life’s harsh storms break above your head, where is your faith?

When the boat fills with water and hopes begin to sink, where is your faith?

When the north star pales and surrounded by high waves you lose sight of land, where is your faith?

When the Master sleeps soundly and the forces of nature or humanity threaten to swallow you, where is your faith?

When the Master’s order to cross the sea seems to lead to death, where is your faith?

When results are slow to appear and the wicked trumpet success, where is your faith?

When the cold of deception seeps into your bones and frustrations make you grind your teeth, where is your faith?

When the lights of the party dim and the shadows of the night surround you, where is your faith?

When you pillow your head at night, with the sounds of the day dying away, to leave you in your thoughts, alone, with God, where is your faith?

This is a translation of today’s Portuguese-language devotional, God With Us.
