U.S. Supreme Court drops the ball — again

This just out: “The Supreme Court has struck down a Louisiana law that allows the execution of people convicted of a raping a child.”

AP says that in a 5-4 vote, the court ruled that the law allowing the death penalty to be imposed in cases of child rape violates the Constitution’s ban on cruel and unusual punishment.

If you thought child molestation was a problem before, you’ve not seen anything yet.

If a state can’t snuff out a person to protect our children from the most harmful of crimes, there’s not much hope anymore for the U.S.

And worse is coming down the pike. Obama will deliver up the baby with the bath water. McCain says he’ll appoint strict judges, but it’s blabber, a sop to conservatives that he won’t keep.

So the U.S. continues its moral decline. Watch for the big collapse within a generation.
