UPLift: The Beauty of It All

May you be one of those who make this a reality where you are.

by J. Randal Matheny © 2009

One hand to wash the other hand,
Two feet to run and walk,
Two sturdy legs on which to stand,
Two lips to sing and talk.

One soul to brace the other soul,
Two minds to better think;
Two sets of eyes for a clearer goal,
Two hearts in closer link.

Many members, body strong,
To keep the one from a fall;
The church where large and small belong,
The beauty of it all.

  1. nice poem. first stanza seems to be about an individual, second about a couple and third about a congregation
