Man May Resist Today

Passions trump the law in human court,
So marriage must accomodate same sex;
To hunt the Christian faith is now elitist sport,
Perversity wins the hour, a voice without checks.

Scripture stands unbroken, the Word alive,
In heaven truth and justice do not budge;
The last day swiftly comes, and soon will arrive:
We’ll give account before the eternal judge.

Flaming sword, two-edged, and full of power —
Man may resist today, laugh and ignore,
But on that day will scoffers run and cower,
When saints are saved, and wrath and justice roar.

The piece above was written 25 June, so you can check the calendar, if need be, for background.

At first glance you might not think this piece appropriate for the upbeat segment that is UPLift Positive Living. But the Christian’s hope is centered here. This hope puts a song in his heart and spring in his step.

The image may seem out of place, but recent events show that open season has been declared against people who believe in the gospel of Christ. So it continues to be a time to proclaim the coming judgment of God and the need for repentance.
