When asked recently to name one or two Bible verses that are his favorites, after he proclaimed repeatedly that the Bible is his favorite book, Donald Trump declined to cite a single verse, claiming that it’s “very personal.”

It made people wonder if he even knows a single verse of the Bible.

Let me suggest to The Donald a good verse to start with, for his life: Jer 9.23-24.

“Wise people should not boast that they are wise.
Powerful people should not boast that they are powerful.
Rich people should not boast that they are rich.
If people want to boast, they should boast about this:
They should boast that they understand and know me.
They should boast that they know and understand
that I, the Lord, act out of faithfulness, fairness, and justice in the earth
and that I desire people to do these things,”

That selection is one of my favorites, has been for many years. I recommend it to Mr. Trump as well.
