Today Is All I Have

Today is all I have, and you with me,
The time for selfless love, and chance to be
Deliberate people of God, in Christ content,
Indifferent to where the fleeting hours went.

Now — and now — and now — is wholly mine,
The timeless throne of God my sacred shrine,
From now till then what comes I do not know,
Not things nor thorns will hold me here below.

My travel is light, my path a simple road,
My guiding star, the Cross where pardon flowed,
And flows this moment, in which I breathe and feel —
Today I have, whose joys let God reveal.
