I’m hearing rumbles all around.

A child-care ministry has made an urgent appeal for funds. A missionary reported losing some of his support. A benevolent effort cuts back its offerings because of a dwindling contributor base.

The economic crisis has come to the church as well.

I’m not saying what should be or shouldn’t. Just observing that it is.

Do you know of churches cutting back on their support in missions and compassion? Know of missionaries and ministries being cut? Please mention them below.

  1. Truth for the World is an evangelistic work under the eldership of the Duluth Church of Christ in Duluth, Georgia. We have lost about $20,000.00 to the general fund this year and each of the missionaries on the staff has lost support.

William and Katrece Howard and my wife, Linda, and I are going to Iceland in April. (See
http://www.hillmission.blogspot.com.) It has be extremely difficult to raise funds for this and other missionary efforts.

I began a Mission work in Nigeria West African to provide child-care and Christian Education to the Poor and Orphans here 2007, but raising support is not possible, hence the ministry is suffering greatly.

What do you think?
