Toward God

Posted on 2017-04-16
by J. Randal Matheny

In hard and troubled days we groan,
We pray the Lord will shorten the time;
If I must walk this path alone,
Until I die, toward God I’ll climb.

The Daily Prompt suggested the word “climbing.”

They Move with Feet of Clay

Posted on 2017-04-15
by J. Randal Matheny

Please tell why people do not rush to obey
The Lord of lords and King of kings—they fiddle!
No full devotion! They move with feet of clay,
And claim to seek a balance, the perfect middle—
Neither overly wicked nor righteous lives.
The slow to follow Christ—ah! What a riddle!—
Will quickly plead for mercy when He arrives.
