Sunday in Vila Maria

Sunday was spent with the Vila Maria congregation in São Paulo.

Early Sunday morning, Vicki, Leila and I left home at 7:30 a.m. for the hour-long trip to the Vila Maria congregation in the northern region of São Paulo. (See picture of the congregation at the front of their auditorium.)

The church had invited me to preach and teach.

In conversations with them about the sermon, we settled on the text of Jeremiah 9:23-24, “Glory in This.”

They asked that I speak to joint Bible classes on motivation for those who labor in the kingdom.

About 30 people were present for the meeting.

After the meeting, we had lunch in the home of Ricardo and Neuza Trajano, along with several other couples and individuals from the congregation.

Ricardo is a dentist by profession and now works with laser therapy.

We left their home about 5 p.m., after a warm and encouring visit.

One positive result of the visit was Ricardo’s acceptance to teach in our new training program in SJCampos. He has concentrated on Christian evidences, and agreed to teach in January of next year.
