Scripture offers not only a verse to read for a moment to be then left aside. It deserves full appreciation. Each word bears a meaning. Each phrase carries power.
God is good, and all that he gives brings a benefit.
We ought to respond to his goodness, with love for all that he does and, not least, for Scripture, for his word is life.
O how I love your law!
All day long I meditate on it.
Psalm 119.97 NET
The law of man and the law of God are two distinct things. God’s law is always a motive of joy, for it shows us his character and how we may approach him in righteousness.
A great verse!! I’d rather meditate a single verse than “read” a whole chapter for sport 😉
It is a great verse, isn’t it? Oh, I don’t reckon we have to choose, do we? Both needed, methinks. But I get your point.
