When we decide to do the will of God, as painful or distasteful as it may be, we may be sure of the presence of God’s power.
As you meet together, and I meet with you in my spirit, by the power of our Lord Jesus present with us, you are to hand this man over to Satan for his body to be destroyed, so that his spirit may be saved in the Day of the Lord.
1 Corinthians 5.4-5 GNB
In the same way that Jesus had the power to expel demons, the church has his power to expel from its midst the sinner.
Not only should the disciples do this, but they can.
We need this same certainty of the power of our Lord Jesus Christ present with us.
For all that he orders us to do, we can.
Father who commands the forces of the universe, thank you for the power which worked in our Lord Jesus and which works today in us.
Hold this thought: The power of Christ is present with us to do the will of God.
