UPLift: Black Lives Matter

By J. Randal Matheny © 2015

Black lives matter, and white and blue,
And matter the young, unborn, and old,
Both man and woman, in God’s own view —
And matters most th’ uncolored soul.

The US is in turmoil, in many ways, some of which are reflected in this poem: issues of race, violence against police, abortion, sexism and feminism (not to mention so-called transgenderism), respect for the elderly.

All of that pales in light of eternal matters. The fights of this world mean nothing without the perspective of judgment, righteousness, holiness, and eternity. We must give our all that we might enter the kingdom of heaven.
