This quote arrived today in my inbox and inspired today’s poem.
From Katheryn Walden’s Daily Christian Quote list:
“No matter how dark the sky, how discouraging the circumstances, how desperate the situation, God is there — a God who is too good to forget and too great to fail. God is there, his mighty arm ruling this universe for him, redeeming all who will let him, and reinforcing any who respond to him in faith and obedience!” –Leo Green
I’d be interested in finding out more about Mr. Green, especially considering his emphasis on obedience. That makes it into the poem as well as other items from the quote, such as the first line with a meter-expanding adjective. (Bonus question: why did I choose the adjective “failing”?)
But his line that I highlighted above caught my attention and serves as the first line of the second stanza.
So thank Mr. Green for his kind inspiration of today’s Cloudburst poem.
