Poem: Above the Highest Heights

glory of God

O God, you sit above the highest heights,
Beneath your throne, the dimmer heavenly lights;
Your glory shines to guide our stumbling feet,
Your Spirit makes our joy and peace complete.

That’s the first stanza, for those not on the Cloudburst Poetry list. …

It started as a tweet, but quickly outgrew that format (140-character limit), and kept growing until it attained three four-line stanzas. Me’s a like-a dat, as the Gungan say.

It moves into a plea for help, then a prayer for Christ’s return.
