Jesus is no more a newborn king,
But now, exalted in heaven, is reining,
To the Son of Man the virgin Mary gave birth,
He came to save mankind from sin, in death.
Jesus is no more a little child,
But rules on high as Lord at God’s right hand;
He goes before his holy people, to save,
To raise us from the dead, that we might live.
Jesus is no more the suffering man,
He died but once, and then his work was done;
He comes again, to take his followers home —
Obey the gospel! He wants you for him.
