My prayer for youFrom yesterday’s Bible reading, I borrow Paul’s prayer for the Thessalonians, in order to make my own request to God for you. After all, no word, no prayer, is better than one from Scripture:

To this end we always pray for you, that our God may make you worthy of his calling and may fulfill every resolve for good and every work of faith by his power, so that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and you in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.
2 Thessalonians 1.11-12 ESV

What I desire most for you is your eternal salvation. For that, my friend, please be sure that you are obeying the Lord in all things.

Eternal life is the greatest “good” that we may accomplish or, better yet, receive from God’s hand, both by its duration, as well as its quality.

Because eternal life is summed up in knowing God, through Jesus Christ, John 17.3.

There is no way besides Christ, John 14.6. This way means obedience to him, John 12.50. Unless we do what he commands, we have no chance, Matthew 7.21.

Let’s obey and be saved!

Eternal Lord, praise to your name for salvation in Christ Jesus! May we undestand and do your will.

Hold this thought: The name of the street is Trust and Obey, / To enter his grace, to walk in his way.
