My late entry into the 21st century

Yes, I did it. I bought a cell phone for me. Along with one for Leila for her 16th birthday. I’d put her off long enough.

All of ours, including Vicki’s, are pre-paid. Easier to control expenses, less to lose if stolen.

In March, Brazil reached 125 million cell phone subscribers. In that month alone, a record 1.688 million cell phones were activated. That’s an increase of 74.85% over March, 2007, according to an April report by Globo.

Eighty percent of all cell phones in Brazil are pre-paid, the report said.

Will I regret getting a cell phone?

  1. Congrats Randy! Just a little correction. You’re now caught up with something from the previous century! 🙂

  2. Thanks, Richard. See how far behind I am. I still have to go put credit on the phone, but you can already call me. Leila and my numbers are the same except for the last digit, mine 1, hers 4. Ought to make it easy to remember, or harder, don’t know which. But of course, it’ll be entered in the phone, so nobody remembers numbers anymore. Good for me, I never did.

What do you think?
