If the human mind has a fault, it is the failure to see the possibility of victory, against such a great opposition.
The light shines in the darkness,
and the darkness doesn’t extinguish the light.
John 1.5 CEB
In the world of darkness, the light appears to be weak, uncertain, incapable of winning. The life of people who are limited, each one with his thorn in the flesh, acting as carriers of the eternal message, does not appear to offer great chances against the forces of evil.
In the same way that Jesus did not impress, neither do his followers.
But the light shines and penetrates the dark. The dark is unable to overcome it.
The path of the Christian is tied to his Master. In spite of the apparently failed appearance of the disciple, the Father uses him to produce victory, many times, at the last minute or, better, by means of his weakness.
The Father’s victory in Christ guarantees that we will also have it, not only for our personal life, but also for the work of illuminating the world.
