Light for our work

LightWould you accept a job where you have to work without lighting? What manager would leave his employees in the dark?

The LORD spoke to Moses: “Speak to Aaron and tell him, ‘When you set up the lamps, the seven lamps are to give light in front of the lampstand.'”
Numbers 8:1-2 NET

In the text, the placing of the lampstand follows the information that Moses received God’s commandments inside the tabernacle (7:89). There’s a connection between the revelation of God’s will and the illumination of the tabernacle for the priests’ work.

The people of God do not work in darkness. He illuminates their work and uses his people as a light to the world. We obey his commandments, which illuminate and guide our work. When we proclaim his revelation, God’s light shines.
