Some people don’t tell patients when they are diagnosed with terminal illness. They don’t want the last days to be painful. They think ignorance brings peace.
Knowledge is power. Knowing what will happen beforehand allows one to be prepared. To remain strong.
I have told you all these things so that you will not fall away.
John 16.1 NET
The knowledge of future troubles tells the saint that Jesus knows and includes suffering for his mission as a part of the whole plan.
Jesus is not surprised by persecution, neither should we be.
He tells us the truth, pulls no punches. Discipleship means knowing what the future holds, both good and bad, and being ready to meet it.
Dear God, I will be faithful, no matter what happens. Thank you for preparing me to follow Jesus all the way.
Hold this thought: He who knows our future guarantees it.
