What vehicle will take us to God? This is the great question for humanity. In order to be accepted by God, dependence upon works, such as those practiced through the law of Moses, is incapable of winning us his approval.

For if a law had been given that was able to give life, then righteousness would certainly have come by the law.
Galatians 3.21b NET

If by our conduct alone it is possible to be approved of God, then Christ would not have needed to come to this world.

But this is impossible for one who follows the law, Romans 8.3.

So then we need Christ’s sacrifice, whose benefits are found in immersion, Romans 6.1-4. For that, it is necessary to obey him.

Do you have the life which comes, not by law, but through Christ?

Lord God, show us the way through the Just One, your Son Jesus Christ.

Hold this thought: Not even the law of Moses solved the people’s problem, even less so our own idea of what is right. Only Christ is the solution.
