Titles and author bylines no good guidelines

Titles or author bylines mean little to me. My eyes often skip over them. Bad habit, I know. I suppose I'm in a hurry to get to the content. That's what matters. My personality type is not impressed by authorities. Don't strut your credentials. Just put up or shut up. So that's probably one reason I like Twitter and other microblogging services and tools. No titles needed. If this forum service allowed an option to ditch the post title, I might use it at times. Though these days social media has made titles more important than ever. People get paid big bucks for catchy titles for businesses. With so much content floating around, something has to serve as a filter, I suppose. Except that titles and author bylines can't guarantee veracity nor value.
