“Our God is in heaven! He does whatever he pleases!” Psalm 115:3 NET
The verse above answers the questioning of the faithless nations about the lack of action by Israel’s God (v. 2). The heavenly God does not limit himself to human expectations. He does what he wants, when he wants.
The idols can do nothing (vv. 4-8). Therefore, the declaration of the heavenly God who does what he wants winds up serving as a call to God’s people to trust in him (vv. 9-13).
For the God who does what he wants, desires to save us.
Lord God, our Father who is in heaven, we recognize that the Lord acts in your own way, within your own deadlines, to fulfill your purpose. Save us and preserve us for your glory. Amen.
