Gone until tomorrow

The family goes to Atibaia after swim class, to spend the night with friends, and then on together with them to Americana for a wedding.

Americana is about 2 1/2 hours away. Atibaia is only an hour from here, so that puts us closer to our destination, fewer kilometers to drive Saturday morning.

I’m performing the wedding in the morning at 9:30, a strange hour for this country, but the couple likes to do things differently.

Roberval and Thayz met during a camp session I directed back a few years ago. They both served as monitors.

Then we had a party here at the house, maybe Joel’s going-away party, and they were both here for that. They hit it off here and started dating after that.

Since I’m partly responsible for their relationship, at least, giving them opportunity to meet and get to know each other better, they asked me to do the wedding.

Roberval was also a student of mine in the National Bible School, and we’ve had some contact while he worked with the youth camp, which I continue to be associated with.

So off we go …

I still don’t care for doing weddings, but sometimes it’s hard to get out of.

Lord permitting, we’ll drive back home tomorrow afternoon.
