So that we can submit to God’s authority, be holy as he is holy, and fulfill his mission in the world, we have God’s power to give us all the strength necessary.

So do not be ashamed of the testimony about our Lord or of me, a prisoner for his sake, but by God’s power accept your share of suffering for the gospel.
2 Timothy 1.8 NET

We can be sure that God’s power will work in our lives. But we must give ourselves up to him, obeying the Lord and proclaiming the Good News, in order for this power to be effective.

God’s power is for all, not only for apostles. It’s even for weaklings like Timothy. Even for me.

Give me courage, our Lord, for I depend constantly on your strength in order to suffer for the gospel.

Hold this thought: Whom the Lord commands, he empowers.
