‘Even now’ — certainty without concrete evidence

What you know beyond a shadow of a doubt will hold you in those moments when your emotions throw you into the depths of the dark. The mind has power over the feelings.

Even now my witness is in heaven; my advocate is on high.
Job 16.19

Job was certain that God saw his situation, was on his side, and was working in his favor. As much as he suffered, he did not lose his reason.

In the midst of suffering, without concrete evidence in that moment, he knew that “even now” God was with him.

Job did not understand what was happening, but his knowledge of God served as a sure stake in the ground, which kept the gales of life from sweeping away his faith.

In our trials our knowledge of the truth secures us. What we know about God gives us foundation to resist sufferings and opposition.

Prepare yourself. You will need this knowledge. Go deep into the Word. Build today the foundation that you will need later to resist in the evil day.
