He prayed, unsure his words would rise
To heaven. He sowed in doubt, no eyes
To see a harvest. He read the pages
Of Scripture, clouded the God of ages.

Surprised, he saw the walking dead,
The mute speak words, the poor find bread,
Despair embrace hope, the weak become strong —
And he was glad to be proved wrong.

  1. When I saw the title, I was afraid you were going to condemn the doubter. I know a lot of people in the church – strong Christians – to admit they have their ups and downs and moments of doubt when life gets hard. But you didn’t condemn. You showed hope. I often tell people in their moments of doubt and difficulty in finding their faith again that they can still hope it is all true. They can still hope until faith returns.

What do you think?
