When I started preaching full-time, the wife and I became friends with a young couple, newly converted, about our same age. We often visited in their home on Sunday nights. The wife of this couple had the habit of playing around with me and dropping sexual innuendos. Inexperienced as I was, I either ignored them or changed the subject. (Today, I’d confront her and show her that a Christian is not to speak like that.)
Some years later, we learned that she had committed adultery, divorced, and married another.
But immorality (sexual vice) and all impurity [of lustful, rich, wasteful living] or greediness must not even be named among you, as is fitting and proper among saints (God’s consecrated people).
Ephesians 5:3 AMP
GWT says these things must not “even be mentioned among you.” Because one never knows where a conversation will lead.
