Do like Jesus: defend the truth

Defend truthMany think their works speak for themselves. That they don’t need to defend or explain themselves. Jesus didn’t think like that.

He said this because they were saying, “He has an evil spirit.”
Mark 3:30 NIV

Jesus’ enemies tried to discredit his miracles by attributing them to the devil’s power. Jesus quickly defends himself and shows the absurdity, the illogic, of this argument.

He does it because, if those who hear the enemies’ lie believe it, the Good News will not be able to have its good effect of bringing people to the Father.

The defense of the gospel has, therefore, the Master’s example behind it. Today, there are those who say the gospel we preach is a joke, legalism, a prison, and a thousand other derogatory terms. If people believe these lies, the power of the gospel will be nullified for them.

Let us, therefore, do like Jesus, and defend the truth which sets men free.

  1. “Today, there are those who say the gospel we preach is a joke, legalism, a prison, and a thousand other derogatory terms. If people believe these lies, the power of the gospel will be nullified for them.”

And that’s the truth! A sad truth but still yet, it’s the truth. Preach on preacher man.

What do you think?
