Dengue close to home

Fitfy-four people have died in Rio de Janeiro’s dengue epidemic, with over 43,000 infected in that state. In Sao Paulo, authorities are in something of a panic to avoid its spread.

Today we learned that there has been a case of dengue in our neighborhood. Twice in two days, we’ve received a visit from the city authorities checking for standing water where the dengue mosquitoes breed.

We pray this fever may be controlled. If it’s like the rise of malaria in the world, it’s thanks to eco-nuts who have banned the proper pesticides and are directly responsible for millions of deaths around the world.
