Many people feel a disconnect between Sunday and Monday, that is, between a day of worship of God and the work week. How they miss the intimate connection between the two!
In this week’s reading of Proverbs 5.8-21, the Lord is mentioned explicitly four times. People often think of the wisdom of the book as having to do with the practical, daily living, rather than being related to spirituality or religion. But Proverbs is full of references to God.
All the wisdom is from him and relates to righteousness, i.e., right living under his guidance and in order to please him. Be it treating your animals right or accepting correction, all is done under the sovereignty of God.
Even Death and Destruction hold no secrets from the Lord.
How much more does he know the human heart!
Pro 15.11 NLT
Remind me of your presence, Lord,
in every moment of every day,
And how I want to reflect that presence
in what I do and and what I say.
