Journalism student Ashley Remp does homework about churches of Christ.

Her article, “Church Remains True to the Biblical Pattern in the Midst of a Changing World,” published in a recent issue of the Florence church’s bulletin, reflects the views of two brethren:

In the midst of a changing world and religious controversies throughout many denominations, the Churches of Christ are remaining true to their original beliefs, many remaining independent in their organization and leadership within the church.

Leaders within the church, consisting of Elders and Deacons, believe that the church must not give in to a changing society but must uphold scripture in the Bible.

May it be so. One well-informed brother thinks half the congregations will be lost to the progressive movement. They are making headway in Brazil as well.

I pray the optimism behind the student’s article is justified.
