Children’s poem: I’m Glad

Here’s a little item for the kids,  going out through the UPLift – Your Day to Shine email list.

I’m Glad

I tell you the truth, unless you turn around
and become like little children,
you will never enter the kingdom of heaven!
–Jesus Christ, Matthew 18:3 NET

I like the patter of rain, a thundery storm,
And clear blue skies with sun that makes me warm.

The cold is fun, with snowmen in the snow,
And summer is good, and autumn leaves that blow.

To play alone, the games the mind invents!
With friends we giggle at things that make no sense.

I love to eat, except for spinach and kale,
And at the lake, to swim and fish and sail.

But none of these can give me constant joy,
For all things end, and I soon tire of a toy.

In all he did, in every path he went,
Jesus taught me how to be content.

What matters is not the color of the sky;
I’m glad that God is God and I am I.
