Just a little fun. Remember that one of Romney’s aides said that after the Republican primary they’d shake the Etch-a-Sketch and start over. Well, the Etch-a-Sketch is where Mitt ended. And I voted for him. If I was really good at it, I’d photoshop this into a cemetery headstone. (Any takers?)
This is pure hubris from a west-coast collector who thinks California is the center of the world.
That dismissal has set collectors grumbling. Theo Holstein, a California collector and renovator of such machines, said he thinks the Gypsy is wasted in Virginia City and should be placed in a private collection for proper care. He said he is trying to gather investors to make a $3 million bid that would top Copperfield’s offer.
“They don’t have any idea what they have. It’s like they have the world’s best diamond and they just pulled it out of their mineshaft,” Holstein said. “It’s good that it’s there and it survived, but now it really needs to be part of the world.” via Rare find discovered amid town’s Old West kitsch – Yahoo! A commentator wrote today that Hamas boasts that “the Koran is our constitution, Jihad is our way, and death for the sake of God is our highest aspiration.” I’d like to put my faith in a single sentence, too. Continue reading →

Thus saith Obama. There have been many criticisms made of Wright’s church, Obama’s association and now his speech distancing/defending. But I have a missiological criticism to make. Continue reading →
“Quero fazer alguma coisa para que minha vida tenha valido a pena”.
Which being translated is,
“I want to do something so that my life will have been worth it.”
This from a man, 72, who murdered his famous girlfriend in 1976, and now pledges to donate the proceeds from book, based on his prison diary from 1977-87 and tell-all details, to a charity. Continue reading →
“Mary and Matthew Winkler both grew up in Churches of Christ, churches that believe the Bible should be interpreted literally, bar instrumental music and believe baptism by immersion in water is necessary for salvation.”
So far, so good, it could have been a worse description.
