The best resolution of all

Our brother in Christ Hugh Fulford said that, in the congregation where he works, they decided to teach and preach in 2015 only about topics directly related to Jesus. He wrote:

… we have committed to join together in a year long journey of preaching Jesus (Acts 8:35), of knowing nothing “except Jesus Christ and Him crucified” (I Corinthians 2:1-2), of learning more about Him, and striving more faithfully to walk in His steps (I Peter 2:21). We will examine numerous facets of the life of Christ, look seriously at the teaching of Christ, and make every effort to lift up Christ as the Savior of all men and the only hope for a better life here and hereafter.

This is a good new year’s resolution, don’t you think? It’s the same one that the apostle Paul decided upon:

For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified.
1Co 2.2 NIV

The Bible contains other topics. Every Bible subject deserves to be treated at some moment or other among the saints. But we can never go far from the Good News of Jesus.

There are other good resolutions that one can make as well. It would be difficult, however, to find one better than this one.

Our heavenly Father, may Jesus always be in the center of our attentions and of our teaching.
