Integrity means wholeness, and in the case of faith, the complete penetration of the power and will of God in a person’s life.

If we live by the Spirit, let us also behave in accordance with the Spirit.
Galatians 5.25 NET

Failure to let the Spirit control us when we live in Christ by his power creates dissonance and, eventually, brings death and separation from him.

The state of dissonance cannot continue. It will either cause one, through repentance, to return to the obedience of faith or, if not corrected, will lead to abandoning the life of the Spirit. The latter is often the case, to the great sorrow of the body of Christ.

So we must be careful to always align our behavior according to the Spirit’s direction.

This direction, it ought to go without saying, but needs to be said, is found in Scripture. That is why we must study it well and apply it diligently.

  1. I was impressed with this article when I read it, but when I went to the dictionary for a definition of the term “dissonance,” I found that you nailed this. The word means, “inconsistency between the beliefs one holds or between one’s actions and one’s beliefs.” Great thoughts, brother!

What do you think?
