Avert disaster

We search out people who tell us what we want to hear. Those who tell us otherwise we avoid, ignore, or despise.

The king of Israel answered Jehoshaphat, “There is still one man through whom we can seek the LORD’s will. But I despise him because he does not prophesy prosperity for me, but disaster. His name is Micaiah son of Imlah. Jehoshaphat said, “The king should not say such things.” 1 Kings 22.8 NET

When we refuse to listen to those who tell us spiritual truth, the result will be disastrous.

Speak, Lord, for your servant is listening.

Hold this thought: Avert disaster, listen close: / Our ills the Lord will diagnose.

What do you think?
