We love to talk about our habits of sleep,
Our diet, too, is topic of long discourse,
Of trivial, common subjects talk is cheap,
We’ll chat and shoot the breeze until we’re hoarse.
In sports we follow and cheer for our favorite team,
We know by heart the scores, the runs, and plays;
During the games we jump and stomp and scream,
Fans know how much their favorite player weighs.
But turn the subject to God and silence reigns,
Who do we hear on kingdom hurdles and gains?
How many follow and know the Savior’s way?
And speak of him with knowledge night and day?
