READ: “The one who says he resides in God ought himself to walk just as Jesus walked” 1 Jn 2.6.
THINK: Walking is a figure of life with God, Acts 9.31; Rom 4.12, beginning in the Garden of Eden, Gen 3.8. It’s a sign of being his people, Lev 26.12, and of participating in his holiness, Deut 30.16; Isa 2.5; Lk 1.6. It is a condition of divine blessing, Jn 8.12; 1 Jn 1.7. We ought to walk in love, Eph 5.2, decently, Rom 13.13; by the Spirit, Gal 5.16, 25; in good works, Eph 2.10, as wise, Eph 5.15, in a way worthy of God, 1 Thes 2.12. (NET Bible does not always retain the figure of walking.)
ACT: Rehearse the why of the Way: to be in God’s presence.
PRAY: Father, may each step of mine be in your direction and under your direction.
ASK: Have I agreed to meet and walk with the Lord? Am 3.3.
