23 years in Brazil

The blog was inacessible for a couple of days, so I’m just now registering that on the 28th our family celebrated 23 years in Brazil. An important date to my heart.

Micah was a year and a half when we arrived. Joel and Leila were born later, as Brazilians. 🙂

In a few years, I will have lived half my life in Brazil, if the Lord gives me life and keep us here that long.

On the 28th, I was by myself. …

Vicki and Leila had already gone to the US to be with my MIL. I travel Sunday to join them. So it was a moment of thanksgiving and, I must confess, a bit of melancholy, not so much from being alone as from not hearing much from our sponsoring church not have been visited by them in the time we’ve been here.

But then I think of the Joe Betts, who spent 50 years in Japan without a visit from their sponsoring church. The Lord bless their perseverance and faith! May mine be as great as theirs.
