God sees all. His eyes watch the good and bad. Nothing escapes his notice. Man cannot hide from him. The night cannot conceal anything from him. He took evil into account when he created his plan. He has not forgotten all the wrong the world contains. At the right time, we will see how God has worked all things for good. Give glory to God!
VERSE — “For you know quite well that the day of the Lord will come in the same way as a thief in the night” 1 Thes 5.2.
MEDITATE — Do we know “quite well” that the day of the Lord will come in this manner? If so, we will be prepared for that day. Let us watch for the coming of the Lord.
PRAY — Come, Lord Jesus! Maranatha!

Though God never changes, he adapts himself to our condition and speaks to us on our level. He shows us how to teach the gospel by identifying with others, as Christ identified with us. Our God is over us, and with us, to help us and give us example. Blessed be our wonderful and loving God!
God is spirit, but he came in the form of a man. We needed someone who knows our sufferings and who experiences our struggles. He was not tainted by the flesh. He brought cleansing to our flesh. Praise to the powerful God who purifies!
God is the source of all wisdom. He has made it available to the person who searches for it like silver or hidden treasure. God straightens the paths of those who acknowledge him in all their ways. He disciplines those he loves. By wisdom the Lord laid the foundation of the earth and brought salvation in his Son to the world. Obey and give glory to God!

Well, now — the Lord he’s been a goodly time a comin’, it seems,
I say — I been a seein’ him approachin’ in my dreams,
His glory’s growin’ brighter night by night,
He’s mighty loud, and gives me quite a fright,
All around — are marchin’ beasts and flyin’ cherubim, hmm,
His robes — a flappin’ in the wind, it’s him, oh, him!
I see! I see! — he’s wavin’ me come up and climb the air,
Flap, kick — Whate’er it takes I’ll get myself up there,
His face aglow, and glad to see me rise,
His arms aspread, this welcome’s my gentle prize,
Whirlywind — Come whip me away and leave this world below,
Oh! Lord and Friend — Just you appear, and I be ready to go!
From meditation to glorification is but a short step. In both a word is spoken. In both God is the focus of thought. In both meaning and purpose are present. Dwell on the goodness and holiness of God and make him the center of all attention. God be praised!
Humans can say nothing to increase God’s greatness. They can only acknowledge it. To glorify him is to help others see his magnificence. This we would do often and powerfully! May many confess your Name, O God! To you be all the glory!
Like lovers who find more and more ways to express their love to each other, so God’s children seek more and more ways to glorify their Maker and Father in word and deed. They follow this rule, “whatever you do, do everything for the glory of God” 1Co 10.31. To God be all glory, always, in every way, in all his children!
God is selfless, that is, he does not act out of self-interest, but for the good of his people. Christ humbled and denied himself, accepting the sufferings of the cross for our salvation. God is love! His love is not self-serving. Glory to God!
