Couplet: A foe to God

Thumbing through a little book of short aphorisms, poems and bits of wisdom, I wrote this couplet on reading a line:

A foe to God was never a friend of man,
Some evil mars his every deed and plan.

I’m a bit surprised at the little booklet, copyrighted some 60 years ago, for stating so many of its points in the negative.
