Poem: A Ship for Every Man
I did this little quickie for a poetry site that I joined today. It looked spiffy, and I needed to improve my stats, so I thought, why not? Though poets may not be the best customers for visiting around.
A poem, the cry for love’s caress,
the upward call from mired distress;
the victory yell from Everest’s peak,
the fevered swoon from the lover’s cheek.
From the wide ocean’s watery span,
To a single drop of salty sea,
The poem’s a ship for every man,
And a sturdy rescue boat for me.
