Jesus, the Big Spender

At the SJCampos church this quarter I’m preaching on “The Attitudes of Jesus.” Today’s sermon was on Jesus as the Big Spender (Jesus, o esbanjador). Most of the lesson centered on Matt. 16:1-12.

One sentence summed up well a principal idea. Here’s seeing if it comes out OK in translation.

Looking at your lack, your lack remains;
looking to Jesus, your life overflows.

Here are the main points:

1. With Jesus, there is always something left over (abundance).
2. Take stock of your resources, rather than noting what you lack.
3. Like Jesus, be a big spender (2 Cor. 12:16).
