Authority and service
“Benedict XVI told 15 new cardinals during their installation that, in the Church, authority means service.”
From Zenit.org. Such words merely mask human ambition. Christ was given and retains all authority (Matt. 28:18). Both ecclesiological hierarchies and local personal autoritarianism hide power plays behind shows of humility and exercise of strength behind words of service, all the while twisting arms and requiring followers to submit.
